Marble sheen Pool Surface
In time, Marblesheen deteriorates, the surface discolours and dark patches appear, this is followed by the covering lifting away from the pool surface, cracking and ultimately the coating turns to dust.
Whilst the integrity of the coating is still good, but there are the inital stages of deterioration appearing, your pool surface can be sealed and the long term solution of tiling is easy and effective. Once the surface has turned to dust, the entire coating will need to be removed, making your pool renovation much more expensive.
December 2015 : SAfework NSW found that a small number of pools with Marblesheen coatings may have had asbestos added into that coating.
If this dust contains friable (toxic) asbestos, it will need to be removed by class A licenced asbestos removal companies before your pool can be re-surfaced
